Engineering
When a new inquiry is received, it is first reviewed immediately to see if the request fits Bos-Hattens abilities. The request is reviewed for completeness of information and due date, so a quick response is assured. The inquiry is then sent to our Application Engineering department. Application Engineering is responsible for the thermal design, TEMA type selection, preliminary mechanical design and cost estimation of units. After a quotation becomes an order, application engineering passes the preliminary mechanical design to our mechanical design department for detail calculations and creation of shop drawings as well as compliance with any and all imposed specifications and requirements.
Thermal Design
Bos-Hatten's seasoned application engineering department is dedicated to providing the optimum design to suit your needs. Our dedicated staff can evaluate existing designs (for retrofits) as well as size new designs. Bos-Hatten has been a member of the Heat Transfer Research Institute (HTRI) since 1975 and has followed the extensive research conducted to provide user friendly and field tested heat transfer and pressure drop correlations.
Our staff can evaluate any set of heat release curves for multi-component condensing, boiling or sensible heating designs from customer supplied fluid properties. In addition, Bos-Hatten can generate vapor liquid equilibrium data and physical properties using PPDS. Our staff has experience in designing a wide variety of heat exchangers for a large number of applications. Not only can Bos-Hatten provide you with state of the art sizing but employs an estimating department comprised of fabricators that have a minimum of 15 years experience fabricating this type of equipment. This insures that you are getting the best possible price for the unit that is selected for you.
Mechanical Design
Our
dedicated and experienced mechanical design department insures that the design
offered meets ASME code, all customer required and applicable specifications
and are designed to minimize fabrication difficulties. Our engineering staff
can design to ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 or 2, TEMA, HEI, API-660,618,614, lethal
service, and the most rigid of customer supplied specifications. All of our
drawings are provided on the latest versions on AUTOCAD or IBMCAD and can be
transferred by diskette, fax/modem or E-mail. The engineering department uses
state-of-the-art mechanical design programs on all of our designs, such as:
Advanced Pressure Vessel(APV), Compress, BJAC, FE Pipe(a finite elemental analysis
program for pressure vessels) as well as numerous custom proprietary programs
to evaluate wind, seismic, and allowable nozzle loadings and miscellaneous acceleration
forces. For further information on the Thermal design
